Cape Byron Lighthouse.

Dawn - 21st May - 2008.

The full moon sets over the Cape Byron Lighthouse

as the sun rises in the East.

At the same time a whale jumped off the Port bow and

Eli's fishing line went crazy with a big tuna.

Averaging about 10 - 12 knots in a keen westerly.

Due to equipment failure later that day, we had to abandon ship at Southport.

It was to be Eli's last venture at sea.

Thursday 12th June, 2008.

Took us about 8 hours to dig Eli's grave (no machines!).

There was plenty of help on hand....fresh blood arriving every couple

of hours to take a turn in the dirt.
