The Death of you
By Kate Westlake
I have learnt so much because of the death of you
Lessons I will try to live by now
But I would rather know less and still be able to
Sit with you
To laugh with you
To talk with you
I know now to cherish those that we love for every moment that we share
And to share every moment that we cherish with those we love
I know now the value of a precious memory
and the memory of a precious value
I know now to love without question
and to question with love
To see things with compassion
To live a life without regret
These lessons I have learnt because of the death of you
and I will try to live by them.
But how I would trade these lessons
To have you back
