Getting to the historic village of St Albans

From Sydney

The quickest route is via the M2 motorway to Pennant Hills, turn right and follow directions to Dural. Continue along Old Northern Road to Wisemans Ferry. At Wisemans Ferry take either the Webbs Creek Ferry (left of Police Station) or the big Wisemans Ferry (located at the other end of town). Having crossed the Hawkesbury River take the road to St. Albans for a distance of 20 kilometres. All ferries are vehicular, free of charge and run for 24 hours.

From Parramatta/Windsor

Drive along Windsor Road to McGraths Hill, turn into Pittown Road and proceed to Wisemans Ferry via Maroota. At Wisemans Ferry take ferry and road to St Albans as above.

From Central Coast

Turn off Newcastle Freeway at Peats Ridge and follow directions to Wisemans Ferry via Mangrove Mountain. Continue past Wisemans Ferry (do not take ferry) and the road becomes Settlers Road which will lead to St. Albans and rear of the Settlers Arm Inn.

From The Hunter

Take the back road from Wollombi to Bucketty. Turn right at the Wisemans Ferry sign and proceed another 35 kilometres to St. Albans where you will arrive at the front of the Settlers Arms Inn.

Make time to explore the historic village of St Albans,

walk through the beautiful Macdonald Valley,

and have a drink or a meal at one of Australias oldest pubs

"The Settlers Arms" built in 1836.
