Kate Westlake is an emerging artist based in Dulwich Hill. Currently her studio is situated in the old Streets Ice Cream Factory in Turrella. On leaving high school in 1979, Kate studied ceramics at Brookvale TAFE, but later pursued a career in the arts as a musician and actress. In 2000 Kate returned to the fine arts and studied painting with hART stART Studio based in The Writers Centre, Rozelle. As an artist, Kate currently draws her inspiration from her local area around the Cooks River, the South Coast - primarily from Tuross Heads to Bodalla and the Hawkesbury River, particularly near Wisemans Ferry. Kate has participated in group exhibitions since 2000 and has worked on commissions for both private entities and Corporate Company Interiors and events.
