Eli Remembered

in Dharamsala

Daniel Brooks was in Dharamsala, India (June 2008) when he recieved news of Eli's death.

As he took the call at the Namgyl monastery (characteristically with video camera in one hand and phone in the other)

a thick blanket of fog enveloped the hillside village.

He then commissioned the monks at the monastery to perform a weekly prayer ceremony (or puja) for Eli each week for seven weeks following his death.

Upon his return to New York he assembled this tribute to Eli.

Many thanks to Pete & Maura Kennedy for kind permission to use their composition "Breathe".
